Remember when Trump said he’d be a dictator during his second term, but “only on Day 1?” 

Well, he never stopped being a dictator after Day 1. Experts like Staffan I. Lindberg of the nonprofit V-Dem and Ruth Ben-Ghiat of New York University have said that the US is heading toward authoritarianism even faster than countries like Hungary, India, and Poland did. 

While the Democratic party and others are trying to block Trump and his enablers through traditional institutional channels like federal courts, Congress, and electoral campaigns, we at the #ResistTrump Campaign believe that patriots living in dark times like these need to employ more than the traditional tactics of canvassing, writing postcards or lobbying elected officials.

We’ve consistently encouraged activists to go outside of politics-as-usual and exercise their First Amendment rights to engage in lawful, joyful, nonviolent civil resistance of Trump and his enablers. 

For example, we supported some of the joyful, peaceful #TeslaTakedown protests that helped pressure Elon out of DOGE , and we’re now leading peaceful resistance efforts against authoritarian institutions like ICE and Fox News.
